"Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.” — Seneca
If you’d like to explore any personal goals, such as: achieving work-life balance, improving relationships with family, friends and loved ones; or increasing the happiness and fulfilment in your life by addressing some difficulties or challenges, I’d be happy to help.
I’m not a therapist or a counsellor, so I’m not qualified to help remove phobias or addictions, for example. However, there are many personal and social issues that it can be helpful to speak about with a coach, if you’re keen to make positive changes in your life and would like the opportunity to talk over ideas with someone who can bring objectivity to your thinking and broaden your perspective.
It may be helpful to talk about some aspects of your past background if it’s relevant to the issues you bring to the sessions, but only in so far as they help us to apply our understanding of that context to your aims and objectives for the future.
The kind of issues you might want to discuss could be many and varied – they might involve relationships, adjustment to a different lifestyle, being a carer, or planning something such as a holiday, wedding or change of career direction. You might only want one session, or a series of sessions to explore something in depth.
Life coaching can help if you want to remove high levels of irritability, stress or anxiety from your life; if you feel a lack of fulfilment in your social/familial/work life; or if you experience a lack of purpose or blocked creativity. Or you may have very positive ideas about changes that you want to make and would just appreciate some support to make them happen.
You can rest assured that I’ll give you the time and space to reflect, talk and explore completely confidentially, and that if I don’t think that I’m suitably qualified to coach you on your issue, I will say so, and instead signpost you to alternative support if appropriate.
Our aim in the coaching will be to identify the personal strengths, unique skills and characteristics you possess so that you can better utilise them to achieve the change you want to make. We’ll determine what you want to achieve, identify any obstacles, work out how to overcome them, and agree an action plan.
Be brave enough to live the life of your dreams according to your vision and purpose instead of the expectations and opinions of others.” ― Roy T. Bennett, 'The Light in the Heart': self-published 2020
